Nassau Sport Fishing Association

The Fish of the Month Contest is a tournament in which only club members can participate.  There is no charge to be in the contest. Each month the targeted fish species is different (see below).

2012 OFFICIAL RULES

1. A particular species of fish will be pursued each calendar month from January through November.
2. Boats must leave out of Nassau, Duval or Camden County waters.
3. Charter captains and crews are not eligible when engaged in charters operations.
4. All fish must be weighed in at Atlantic Seafood or Leaders and Sinkers as soon as possible.
5. Members fishing on charter outings are eligible except as mentioned above.
6. The angler must present all weigh slips in person at the regular monthly NSFA business meeting for the appropriate species. parent may present youth tickets at Business Meeting.  Youth must be present at the Social to receive the award.
7. Fish presented for the Fish of the Month Contest may not have been entered in any other contest/tournament.
8. In the event of a duplicate fish weight, the winner will be decided by earliest weigh in time/date on slip. This also applies to ties for Angler of the Year for the month of Nov. Two anglers both weighed in Nov. fish of the month and are tied in points / largest then date then time for Angler of the year standings.
9. All anglers submitting weigh slips will accumulate points toward the Angler of the Year. 1st place monthly will be awarded 4 points, 2nd place 3 points,  3rd place 2 points and all others 1 point.  Monthly fish winners will receive $50 1st place, $40 2nd place and $30 3rd place.  1st place winners setting new club records will receive an additional 5 points towards the Angler of the Year as well as an additional $25 payout.  Only one fish per month per angler is eligible for prizes and points.
10. High point winners at the end of November will be presented the following awards at the  will be  annual Christmas Party: 1st Place -$200; 2nd Place - $100; 3rd Place - $50
11. TWT-Anytime between January thru the Christmas Party: A grand slam can be weighed in consisting of 1 Redfish, 1 Trout, and 1 Flounder caught on the same day. Only one fish out of the slam can be submitted for fish of the month for the appropriate month. All fish must be on the same weigh-in slip and turned in at anytime during the year at the business meeting. $200 will be awarded at the Christmas Party to the winner and $100 will be awarded to the second place finisher.
12. THIS IS AN HONOR SYSTEM TOURNAMENT.
