Thanks to All Who Helped at the 25th Annual Trout Tournament

 

I would like to thank each and everyone who helped organize and help put together such a great 25th Annual Trout Tournament this year!  Everyone enjoyed the tournament and appreciated the delicious fish dinner with all the trimmings.

 

I particularly would like to thank Allen Mills for doing such a great job as the Tournament Director again this year.  Not only does he do a terrific job of raising funds for the sponsorship plaques but also Allen's way of entertaining everyone as host and MC for the awards dinner is always a fun time, especially for the kids!

 

It is also gratifying to know that we raised more funds this year than in previous years.  Kudas to Joe Wise for his treasureship in keeping the prize money straight along with his never-ending help in all aspects of the tournament.

 

I could make mention of so many of you who helped with this tournament but at the risk of leaving someone out, I think we all know who you are.  And you are all to be congratulated!

July 2011 Social with special guest Larry "Fishman" Finch

The fourth Wednesday of each month we have a Club social gathering, where members get together and tell fish stories, plan their next fishing trip or otherwise just hang out.  Our socials are at Ten Acres Kraft Athletic Club, 961023 Buccaneer Trail in Fernandina Beach.  Occasionally, there will be a speaker to present expert advice on fishing, from inshore backwater to offshore trolling. 

At our July 2011 social, we welcomed Larry "The Fishman" Finch, a renowned Surf Fisherman to give us tips on how to catch more and bigger Pompano and Whiting in the surf.  It was very informative.  We had a club surf tournament the following Friday, and Larry was present to show us all up.  And boy, did he.  Larry, thanks for the Surf Fishing seminar.
